Colophon
A few notes on how this site is made, and the quiet decisions behind it.
Stack
Astro 7 (static output) with MDX for long-form posts, Tailwind 4 for layout, Shiki for syntax highlighting using real VS Code grammars, and Pagefind for search that never leaves the browser. Typed frontmatter via content collections. Built by GitHub Actions, pushed over SFTP to OVHcloud.
Process
This site was built with AI. Claude Code wrote most of the code and drafted the copy. I set the direction and shaped it from there.
Type
Body and headings are set in Newsreader by Production Type. Inter Tight, tuned tight for display, carries the homepage tagline, its section headings, and the command palette. Code, navigation, and accents are JetBrains Mono.
Palette
An original interpretation of Tokyo Night, a deep ink-blue ground, muted foreground, one cornflower accent. A warm-paper light mode ships with it, and two alternate palettes (Nord, One Dark) live in the stylesheet, one data-palette attribute away, for the devtools-inclined. The accent hue lives in oklch(), so rotating it stays perceptually even.
Accessibility
Semantic HTML throughout, WCAG AA contrast for all text on both themes (metadata is quieter, never illegible), full keyboard navigation (⌘K command palette, ? for the shortcut list, / for search, ⇧T to toggle the theme, vim-style g h / g p / g b / g a / g c jumps), and all motion respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Flourishes, one per screen
- Home: the heading types one name, thinks better of it, and settles on Soremo.
- Blog index: dates in a mono column on the left.
- Articles: a 1-pixel reading-progress bar at the very top.
- About: path-style skill tags (
lang/rust, not a skill bar). - Contact: a reveal-email button styled like a shell command.
- 404:
command not found: $path.
Take what's useful.
